“(Not) Going to California”

From The LA Times:

“The proportion of Californians who had moved here from out of state reached a 100-year low of about 20% in 2010, and the decade measured by the most recent census was the first in a century in which the majority of Californians were native-born.”

I moved out (officially) of California in 2005. I have the opportunity to return in 2012, but the horrible fiscal environment, devastated housing market, financially-abandoned public school system, unfriendly business climate, and high income, property, and sales tax rates are reasons that will keep me away.

I’ll visit my family for a few weeks instead and soak up the sunshine in small bites.

Move to Manhattan Beach: some of the top schools in the state (and country), a well run (fiscally strong) city, and it has the word ‘beach’ in it’s name, need I say more? We could use some more great people like you.
